Hodge silk swabs are made from 100% silk, which is highly absorbent, lint-free, and compresses so there is less chance of bunching and jamming in the instrument. This swab will clean the length of the fully assembled instrument (not including the bocal) so the swab can be pulled back and forth. They have a safety cord on the back end, so that if there were a knot in one and it got stuck, it could be pulled back out the way it went in. The swab has a straight weight rather than a ball chain.
